Christian has extensive experience in insurance fraud litigation, having spent several years in the Office of Attorney General in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He also handled defensive litigation on behalf of state agencies and officials in torts, eminent domain, civil rights and employment claims. He has handled complex fraud, securities, and white-collar criminal litigation for various law firms in New Mexico and Oregon. Christian was appointed by the Governor of New Mexico as the District Public Defender in Aztec, responsible for human resources functions, recruitment, retention, training, professional responsibility, compliance and oversight of attorneys, staff, contract personnel and experts. His duties also included defense of all levels of criminal cases.

Education

Christian received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Reed College, in Portland, Oregon, after studying abroad at The International People’s College in Elsinore, Denmark; and in Japan, China and Taiwan through the Asian Business and Culture program at Franklin Pierce College in New Hampshire. He received a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at St. John’s College, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Christian received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude,from the Vermont Law School in South Royalton, ranking in the top 10% of his class, and was Lieutenant Governor, ABA Law Student Division.
